Bill Wilson Center's Rapid Re-housing program helps individuals and families avoid homelessness and helps those experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized using the Housing First approach.

BWC’s intervention assistance is offered without preconditions — like employment, income, absence of criminal record, or sobriety — and the resources and services provided are tailored to the unique needs of the household.

Rapid Re-housing funds can provide for a variety of assistance, including: short-term or medium-term rental assistance, housing relocation and stabilization services including: mediation, credit counseling, security or utility deposits, utility payments, moving cost assistance, and case management.

The fundamental goal of the program is to keep a person from becoming chronically homeless and is an important component of our community’s response to homelessness.

BWC's Rapid Rehousing Program operates under the principles of Housing First.

Housing First offers people experiencing homelessness permanent housing with few to no preconditions, behavioral contingencies, or barriers.

Housing First promotes that all people experiencing homelessness can achieve stability in permanent housing if provided with the appropriate levels of services. This approach yields higher housing retention rates, reduces the use of crisis services and institutions, and improves people's health.

Thanks for the Sobrato Family Foundation's in-kind grant providing office space for BWC’s Rapid Rehousing Program.
